ColorPack Layer

SEE NEXT AVAILABLE HATCH DATE

This variety is a proprietary high production cross of several breed lines, which will yield 280+ predominantly blue and green, colored eggs per year.

Most pullet chicks are brown with dark stripes, but some may also be red with yellow mottling, or even, lighter brown, almost buff, and occasionally, solid yellow. *Chicks which are solid yellow, are feather sexed, while all other color lines can be color sexed.

Most hens will feather out to be a rust or reddish brown color, with some darker striping, closely resembling their Cream Legbar ancestry, but some may also be cream colored. Thanks to the Cream Legbar traits, ColorPack hens will develop a top crest and will lay blue, green, brown, and even pink tinted eggs!

ColorPack cockerel chicks are typically very muted in color, have no barring or mottling, or are just solid yellow, while roosters, may feather out to be multicolored, solid colored, and even white with some black striping.

The reason that we refer to our breed as the ColorPack, is because this breed will make a perfect addition to your colored egg assortment of layers, truly helping you achieve a “colorpack” carton of eggs.

If you are looking for something different, which will lay at a competitive level, try our ColorPack Layer.

Even though this may sound like an Easter Egger type cross, this bird is not related in any way to the Americana, or Araucana lines.

The ColorPack Layer is color sexable. Available as pullets or cockerels.

Black turkeys are a striking addition to our hatchery line-up. They have a deep, dark, coloration that makes them one of a kind.

Black turkeys originated in Mexico and were taken to England in the 16th Century where they gained popularity with the local farmers. The early colonists took them to the New World to raise for food. The turkey consumed at the first Thanksgiving just might have been a Black turkey, rather than a native wild turkey.

Our Broad Breasted Black turkey, is a hybrid breed, and will reach 20-22 lbs live weight in about 16-18 weeks.

White Bantam Silkie

SEE NEXT AVAILABLE HATCH DATE

This breed is a true Bantam Silkie Asian Broiler, traditionally raised for meat production in Asia and desirable for specialty meat markets and high end restaurants. They will reach an average live weight of 3.5 lbs in 12-15 weeks.

With black skin, black bones, green to bluish-black earlobes, and very dark meat, this variety plucks easily and has a refined taste and texture.

The White Bantam Silkie originates from an ancient breed line. Known as a rather unusual variety, the White Bantam Silkies are widely regarded for their docile disposition, and attentiveness to their offspring. For this reason, Silkies can set on their own eggs and hatch their own chicks at a very respectable rate. They will even set on other birds' eggs and hatch them.
Females will lay between 90-120 cream-colored eggs per year.

Roughly half of the birds will have top crest, and the other half will not. This is because of cross breeding.

If you are looking for a rather unusual variety, try the White Bantam Silkie. Sold as straight run only.

Chicks are predominantly white. On occasion, other chick colors may be present, however due to the infrequency of different colors, no color choices or substitutions will be allowed.

*This breed will not breed true if crossed*

**Minimum quantity: 5 (may be combined with any other chick variety, to meet minimum ship quantity of 10 chicks)
